How do I check my Genius P400 is ready to use?

Before using your Genius P400, we recommend you do the following:

• Check your Genius P400’s connection to the internet
• Genius Credentials are configured in the backend 
• Run a test transaction on your Genius P400 from POS

Check your Genius P400’s connection to the internet

The IP address of your Genius P400 is available on the Admin Overview screen. To access the Admin Overview screen, complete the following steps:
Step 1. From the home screen, use the keypad to press 000.
Step 2. Use the keypad to type the password and then tap OK. The default password is 9416557.
Step 3. Confirm there is an IP address next to IP address and a host name next to Hostname.

• If either field is not populated, check your Genius P400 is functioning correctly.

Check your Genius P400 connects with our gateway

Run gateway tests to check that your gateway connections are working correctly. To run gateway tests, complete the following steps:
Step 1. From the home screen, use the keypad to press 000.
Step 2. Use the keypad to type the password and then tap OK. The default password is 9416557.
Step 3. Tap Options and then tap Network.
Step 4. Tap Options and then tap Connection Test.
Step 5. Confirm all the tests have passed.

• If the tests do not pass, check your Genius P400 is functioning correctly.

Run a test transaction

We recommend that you use your POS to run a test transaction.

• If the test transaction transfers successfully to your Genius P400, cancel the test transaction and start running live sales.
• If the test transaction does not transfer successfully, check your Genius P400 is functioning correctly.
