What are Commercial Credit Cards?

A commercial credit card, in the context of payment processing, is a type of credit card issued to businesses and organizations for conducting commercial transactions. It functions similarly to a personal credit card, but it is designed specifically to meet the financial needs of businesses and facilitate their purchasing and expense management processes.

This feature allows merchants to easily accept and process commercial credit card transactions while capturing and sending Purchase Order (PO) numbers associated with those transactions. This feature is especially useful for businesses that frequently deal with commercial customers and need to maintain accurate records of transactions and purchase orders. Here's how this feature works:

  1. When a user initiates a credit card transaction on a PAX POS link device, a popup window appears. This popup is specifically designed to accept a Purchase Order (PO) number.

  2. If the user has a PO number for the transaction, we can type it into the popup window. This PO number is then associated with the transaction. The typed PO number is included in the PAX payment request. This means that when the transaction is processed, the PO number is sent along with the payment information to help in tracking or record-keeping.

  3. This feature is not limited to just regular sales transactions. It also works for voids, refunds, and exchanges. In these cases, if a PO number is provided in the popup, it will be included in the payment request.

This makes the creation and tracking of Purchase Orders more seamless for both the person making the purchase and the merchant. Capturing and including the PO number during the transaction, simplifies the administrative and accounting aspects of commercial card transactions.
