What are BOGO Discounts?
BOGO stands for "Buy One, Get One," and BOGO discounts are a type of promotional offer where customers can purchase one product and receive another product for free or at a discounted price. These discounts are often used by retailers and businesses to incentivize customers to make purchases and increase sales.
Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO): Customers buy one item at the regular price, and they receive a second identical item for free. For example, "Buy One, Get One Free on All T-Shirts."
How to Setup BOGO Discounts?
Setting up BOGO discounts can vary depending on the business you are running. Here's a general outline of how to set up BOGO discounts:
- Determine the BOGO offer: Decide on the specific BOGO offer you want to implement, such as Buy One, Get One Free, or Buy One, Get 2. You'll also need to specify the eligible products or product categories for the offer.
- Log in to your Console → Settings → General Settings → Promotions → Add Discount
- Create the discount, name the discount, specify the Discount Type as 'BOGO', Date range, Customer Group, Redemption limit, if any, and specify the BOGO configuration as required.
How does it work on 6IX POS?
Adding 2 items to the cart meets the BOBO rules, Customers can buy any product at full price to get a second one free. When 2 products of the same category are in the cart then the cheapest product in the cart will be provided a discount.
BOGO discounts are applied exclusively when the tender button is clicked. Once the tender button is pressed, a popup will appear on the POS displaying the details of the BOGO items. This enables the user or customer to confirm the application of the discount.
BOGO configurations can be diverse, and you can set up various types based on your business strategy. Here are some examples of different BOGO configurations:
- Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO):
- Example: Buy one pair of shoes, get the second pair for free.
- Buy X(Qty) Item, Get Y(Qty) for Z Off ($/%/Free):
- Example: Buy 2 T-shirts, get the third one at 50% off.
- Buy One, Get One 50% Off:
- Example: Buy a regular-priced item, and get another item of equal or lesser value at 50% off.
- Buy One, Get One for $1:
- Example: Buy a product at the regular price, and get a second one for only $1.
- Buy One, Get One Free on Select Items:
- Example: Buy a specific brand of shampoo, and get the same brand conditioner for free.
- Buy X(Qty) from Category A, Get Y(Qty) from Category B for Z% Off:
- Example: Buy 3 dresses from Category A, and get 2 pairs of shoes from Category B at 30% off.
- Buy One, Get One 50% Off on Different Category:
- Example: Buy a laptop, get a printer at 50% off.
