What’s New?
You can now prevent your store from selling items that are out of stock with the new “Prevent Negative QOH Selling” feature in 6IX POS. This helps you avoid selling more items than you actually have, making inventory management easier and more accurate.
How Does It Work?
When this feature is turned on, the POS will check your stock levels before completing a sale.
If you try to sell more of an item than you have in stock, the sale will be stopped.
You’ll see a clear message showing which items in your cart are not available in the requested quantity.
This helps you avoid accidental overselling and keeps your inventory up to date.
What Are My Options?
You can choose how the system checks your stock:
Turn Off the Feature: If you want, you can allow sales to go through even if you don’t have enough stock.
Turn On the Feature: The POS will block sales if you try to sell more than what’s available.
What Will I See?
If you try to sell more than what’s in stock, you’ll get a message listing the items that are not available in the quantity you want.
If your POS is offline or can’t check stock, you’ll see a message letting you know, but you can still complete the sale.
Why Use This Feature?
Prevents selling items you don’t have in stock.
Reduces customer complaints about unavailable products.
Helps you keep better track of your inventory.
How Do I Turn It On?
Go to your POS settings and look for the option to “Restrict Negative QOH” under Cart & Checkout. You can turn it on or off, and choose how you want the system to check your stock.
