Introduction to Price Book (Club Pricing)

The Price Book feature on 6IX POS introduces a powerful tool for customizing item prices, discounts, and coupons specific to particular locations or circumstances. This functionality allows users to modify standard pricing for items, apply discounts, and create targeted promotions tailored to various classifications, vendors, and customer groups.

Why Price Book?

  • Granular Customization: Modify prices, discounts, and coupons at attribute, item, or promotion levels.
  • Location-Specific Pricing: Create unique pricing structures for different store locations, enabling specific regional pricing within the same retail chain.
  • Flexible Discounting: Targeted promotions and discounts for various departments, categories, sub-categories, or attributes.
  • Bulk Application: Apply changes to entire departments or attributes, affecting all merchandise within the selected category.

Creating a Price Book

Pricebook can be configured from the backend portal, Console.
Login to Console --> Go to Settings--> General --> Price Book --> Add Price Book
Enter a unique name for the price book

You can select individual items in the price book or choose departments, categories, or even specific attributes to be discounted as a whole - every item in the selected department would have the discount.

Select Attribute Level for the price book (this is for special pricing at the department, category, sub-category, or other attributes)

Select items at an Item Level for the price book (this is used when specific items are discounted)

Select Promotion Level - Discount for the price book (this is used for changing the value of the discount for the store or venue it is attached it)

Customer Level Pricing

A merchant creating a loyalty program for their VIP static group customers can create a price book where they can select t a few items or a group of items to be included with a new price or discount. When customers are added to the transaction and items are rung up that fall within the price book they will automatically be priced at the special price book pricing.

Say you have started taking customer information at the POS to create a mailer for promotions and new products but would like to offer more incentives for customers who join or fall within a "VIP" setting. You could set up a discount for those customers, but then you have to make sure that when they come in the cashiers know about the discount and what group gets the discount. What if there was another way?

You could set up a price book for the items that are being discounted, then apply that price book to the customer group that you wish to offer the incentive. When they come to the register provide their name or customer number; then add items to the transaction; if the items are found within the price book set for their customer group it will automatically adjust for either a new price or discount. As the merchant, you get to provide the incentive without the headache of a missed discount on a transaction.

Assigning Price Book to a Customer Group

Login to Console --> Go to CRM --> Customer Groupsselect the customer group(static), choose the desired price book from the Pricebook dropdown, and hit Save

Working with Price Book on POS

Applying Price Books:

Example: If a store-level price book is configured.

Login to a specific location or store where the price book will be applied.

Merchandise within the selected department or attribute will reflect the applied price changes.

Upon login to the specific store, the POS will automatically apply the updated prices of items from the selected price book when they are added to the cart.

Users don't need to manually adjust prices; the system handles it based on the applied price book.

Displaying Updated Prices on Quick Pick:

The POS offers the option to display the updated prices of items on the quick pick interface.

This feature allows users to view and select items based on their updated prices, offering convenience and transparency.
