retailcloud Windows POS Installation
- Step 1 - Computer needs Microsoft .Net
Download and Install the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.6 or higher. If you already have this installed on your Computer, you may skip this step and proceed to Step 2. Microsoft .Net Framework is required for MySQL 5.6 to work on a Windows machine. To verify if you have Microsoft .Net Framework run the following program that will verify if you have it or not.

- Step 2 - Run the Installer
Download and run the retailcloud Installer. Follow the steps in the installer to complete. This download installs the following:
- Java
- MySQL 5.6 - View Installation Guide
- retailcloud Windows POS

(the download should appear in your browser window if you are using Chrome)
- Step 3 - Install your Register
To complete the install, you will need the following credentials provided in your Welcome Letter (sent via Email).
- System Admin Username
- System Admin Password
- Merchant ID (this is a Numerical value)
- Register ID (this is a Numerical value, needs to be created from back office portal)
To create a Register ID: login to the back office portal, and create a new register on your account. Follow the path Management > Hierarchy > Register > Create Register. The screen should display as such: Fill in the Name, select the venue and store, and leave Posi Track selected. Choose save. Once the Register is created, you will get a success message as shown below, displaying the register ID that has been created. This is the ID you will use to register your Windows POS application.
Open your newly downloaded retailcloud Windows POS, enter the credentials mentioned above, select Install.

Note: This retailcloud installer should only be used for Computers that do not have MySQL currently installed - DO NOT use the installer if it is currently on the computer.

Installing MySQL 5.6
The following 10 Steps will guide you through the screens to setup MySQL 5.6, if at any time you need assistance please feel free to contact Live Chat Support.
Step 1
- Read and Accept the License Terms for MySQL.
- Click Next to Proceed.
Step 2
Select the option for "Server Only".
- Click Next to Proceed
Step 3
- Verify your MySQL Server status is "Complete", if you have an error please close the Setup and restart your computer to try again.
- Click Next to Proceed.
Step 4
- Next we will configure the MySQL instance we just installed.
- Click Next to Proceed.
Step 5
- You do not have to change any values at this screen. Check to see if your settings match the screenshot below.
- Click Next to Proceed.
Step 6
- You will need to enter a strong password for your Root User. Please keep this password handy as you will need it after completing the MySQL Installation.
- Click Next to Proceed.
Step 7
- You do not have to change any values at this screen. Check to see if your settings match the screenshot below.
- Click Next to Proceed.
Step 8
- Click "Execute" to apply the MySQL Configuration.
Step 9
- Your MySQL should now have successfully configured and you should see the success message below. If you did not receive a successful message, please consult your IT consultant for corrective measures.
- Click Finish to complete the Configuration.
Step 10
- Click Finish to complete the MySQL Setup, now you may proceed to the POS setup.
Uninstall MYSQL 5.6 from Windows
Scenario: User uses installer and does not configure MySQL 5.6 correctly, the app will not open and user will not be able to use retailcloud POS.
Steps to take:
- Go to Control Panel on your Windows Machine and uninstall MySQL Server 5.6
- Uninstall everything with MySQL on Control Panel
- Navigate to your C: Drive
- Go into Program Files and delete the folder MySQL
- You will need to reveal your hidden items on your C: Drive because there is a MySQL directory hidden by default that you need to delete
- On Windows 10, you go on C: drive, From the top Toolbars select Views, checkbox Hidden Items, now you will see folder Program Data.
- On Windows 7, you go to C: drive, Choose Organize, select Folder and search options, show hidden folders, Program Data
- Delete the MySQL Folder from Program Data folder
Now you should be able to reinstall MySQL without any issue.
