Donation Roundup

Follow

A donation roundup is an easy and increasingly common way to give to charity. The idea behind the donation roundup is a simple one. The point of sale gives the total amount of the bill to the customer. The cashier then asks if the customer wants to round up to the next dollar amount to benefit a given charity.

retailcloud gives your business the ability to round up. It requires no additional knowledge on the part of your cashiers because it is as simple as pressing a button. Likewise, customers appreciate helping charities in this manner because it lets them donate without hassle.

Once the app is installed and configured, employees will:

  1. Do a sale and proceed to checkout
  2. A Donation popup appears on the screen
  3. Simply ask the shopper if they would like to Round-Up to the next dollar.
  4. The app will automatically calculate the difference.
  5. If the shopper says yes, the employee selects the green Round Up Donation button.
  6. A donation item will be added to the receipt.
  7. Which adjusts the amount due.
  8. Complete the sale.

When this feature is set up, a Donate window will appear when you begin the checkout process, and customers will have the option to round up their total purchase to the next dollar amount and donate the difference to charity.

If the customer agrees to donate, select their preferred charity, and then click on the button to add the donation to the transaction and receipt. If the customer does not want to donate, click Skip Donation. When the donate window closes, the checkout process continues.

Customers can now enter a custom donation amount during checkout in addition to selecting from the preset donation option. This makes sure that customers have flexibility to donate a specific amount.
