Column Sorting

Follow

This article describes how to get your grid data sorted. This is applicable across all the grids on Console Portal.

Sort a column by clicking on the column header.

Sorting Order

By default, the sorting order is as follows:

       Ascending      ->      Descending        ->     None

In other words, when you click a column that is not sorted, it will sort ascending. The next click will make it sort descending. Another click will remove the sort.

Multi Column Sorting

It is possible to sort by multiple columns. The default action for multiple-column sorting is for the user to hold down Shift while clicking the column header.

The example below demonstrates the following:

  • The grid sorts by Department and then ProductID by default.

Sort Purchase Order

If you’re receiving large quantities of items from a purchase order, the Sort Purchase Order plugin enables you to sort PO columns by A-to-Z and highest-to-lowest, or by Z-to-A and lowest-to-highest.

Using the Sort Purchase Order

Click on a header item to sort items by that parameter. Click on the header a second time to reverse the order of sorting.

The below image shows an unsorted purchase order:

The next two images show what the purchase order would look like if it was sorted by Vendor

The first image shows if Vendor is sorted by A-Z. The second image shows if Vendor is sorted by Z-A.
