SMS Marketing campaigns can be an incredibly effective strategy regardless of your goals. However, to make the most of these campaigns, you want to ensure you use SMS targeting. In other words, you want to carefully choose who receives which text messages instead of sending every message to everyone on your list whether for marketing campaigns, or any other communication.
Customer Segments
Customer segmentation refers to dividing your customers into various groups depending on their common traits or characteristics. The idea behind segmentation is that it lets you target each group more effectively for text messaging campaigns.
You will send each customer segment only the most relevant content. This makes recipients feel as if you’re talking directly to them. Common segmentation characteristics include age, marital status, gender, location, and the customer’s position on the sales funnel, etc.
Getting Started
From the SMS Marketing page, select Segments.--> Create Segment.
Enter a unique name for your segment that corresponds well to the customer behavior.
Create segments by choosing the option available from the drop-down menu. You can use the OR/AND operators for combining different conditions. To add a new condition click on the + icon at the bottom of the page.
For Example:
Condition #1: Choose the type Tags --> Choose the condition: Customer is tagged -> Choose the desired tags: VIP
AND
Condition #2: Choose the type Frequently purchased--> Choose the Classification or Attribute Type: Department -> Choose the classification or attribute: Accessories --> Choose the Product: TRUCK
From the above example, a dynamic segment will be created by adding all customers who fall under the combination of predefined conditions.
Your segment has now been created.
Note: Now users can make Customers Segments, active or inactive based on their preference.
