Givex Gift Card Integration on ZeroPOS

retailcloud system is now integrated with the Givex gift card processor. You can securely process all gift card and loyalty transactions in real time on ZeroPOS. Once you have received your Gift Card Merchant credentials (as well as your physical gift cards) you should enter the information into the system.

Getting Started

Mainly there are 3 steps involved in accepting Gift cards as a payment type for ZeroPOS. 

1. Setup and Activate your Gift card account with Givex
2. Set up the Gift card items for your accounts
3. Selling Gift cards and Accepting Payment as Gift cards

Settings on POS

Click on the Menu icon from the home screen → Select ‘ Configurations’ → Payment → Gift.

Select the Gift Card Provider "GiveX" from the drop-down.

Select the Gift By option from the drop-down. (Register /Stotre /Venue)

Enter the gift card provider's necessary authentication credentials for the gateway. (Provided by your gift card provider.)

• Gift Integration Auth
• Gift Integration Pass

Click ‘Save’ to set up gift settings.

Set up the Gift card items for your accounts

To sell gift cards to your customers, you need to set up a service item as below

1. Create an item under Master item (ex: GIFT01) for $0.00 and Item Type as "Prepaid Item"

2. Save the Item

Selling Gift cards

When a customer wanted to purchase a gift card, please follow the steps below

1. Sell the item set up in the previous step (ex: GIFT01)
2. The system will prompt you to enter the Amount the gift card is to be sold for. Enter the desired amount and collect payment as one of the available tenders (CASH, CREDIT, DEBIT, CHECK, etc)
3. Print the receipt and note down the transaction number

At this point, you have successfully sold a gift card. The next step is to activate the gift card

Activating a Gift Card 

1. From the transaction screen, swipe from the left and click "Gift Card Activation"
2. There are 2 options for activation: Activate By Card Number and Load Balance
3. Activate By Gift Card: The user is able to activate a card, If the card is not already activated. Enter the Gift Card Number, Amount from the previous gift card sale, and Transaction Number from the previous step and Activate.
4. You will see a success message if activated successfully.
5. Load Balance: The user is able to load the balance to a GIVEX gift card using the 'Load balance option, even if the card is already loaded with some amount activated.

Balance Inquiry

1. From the transaction screen, swipe from the left and click "Gift Inquiry"
2. Enter the Gift Card Number and click Check Balance.
3. You will see the Gift card balance on the screen.

Accepting Gift cards as Payment

If you are using a PAX terminal, the gift card can be swiped on the PAX for Sale transactions

1. Add items to the cart

2. Click on the Tender Type "Gift"

3. Click Submit

4. The PAX terminal will ask the user to Swipe / Input the Card Number. It can be swiped or manually entered.

5. Proceed to complete the transaction. 

Givex Gift Card Payments on FreedomPay (Ingenico Devices)

We’ve introduced support for Givex gift card transactions through FreedomPay on Ingenico payment devices. This integration enables merchants to process gift card payments directly on their terminals without relying on separate solutions, making the checkout process smoother and more efficient.

Supported Gift Card Transactions

The following Givex gift card operations are now supported via FreedomPay on Ingenico devices:

• Redeem (Sale) – Customers can pay for their purchase using a Givex gift card.
• Refund – Refunds can be issued back to the same Givex gift card.
• Balance Inquiry – Staff can check the available balance on a Givex gift card.
• Activation – New gift cards can be activated, with or without a predefined amount (depending on the card setup).
• Reload – Additional funds can be added to an existing Givex gift card after charging the customer for the reload amount.

Gift cards are automatically identified by their BIN range when swiped, ensuring a seamless process at the terminal.

For Sale and Refund transactions, the flow mirrors a regular credit transaction, with the addition of a specific gift card prompt. The card is automatically recognized as a gift card, simplifying the process for cashiers and customers.

To enable the Givex Gift Card payments, merchants will need Givex credentials which are needed for the setup by FreedomPay, when requesting configurations for a new account.

Seamless Checkout – No need for separate systems to handle gift card payments.

Full Gift Card Support – From activation to redemption, all Givex gift card transactions can be managed directly on the terminal.
