Inventory Reason Codes are used in inventory operations to provide a standardized way of documenting the reasons behind various inventory transactions. They help track and analyze the causes of inventory changes, such as transfers, adjustments, or refunds.

Add Reason Code

To create a new reason code, click on the Add Reason Code button.

Select the Operation: Inventory Transfer, Inventory Adjustment, Refunds (POS), Spoilage, Inventory Comps, Return To Vendor, COGS Adjustment, Inventory Write Down

Select the Type: Commit or Error (Not available for the options: Refunds, Spoilage, Inventory Comps, Return To Vendor, Inventory Write Down).

Enter the Code

Enter the Reason on the field provided and hit Save.

In each of these inventory operations, the use of reason codes ensures transparency, consistency, and accuracy in recording inventory transactions. It enables businesses to analyze and identify patterns, make informed decisions, and maintain optimal inventory levels.

Activate/Deactivate Reason Codes

Users can now manage reason codes' status with a new feature allowing activation/deactivation. A button in the reason code grid enables easy toggling between active and inactive status. Active reason codes appear in dropdowns, while inactive ones are excluded. The system updates backend status upon user action, ensuring historical data integrity. A confirmation prompt ensures intentional status changes, minimizing errors. Additionally, users can directly adjust a reason code's status from its UI.
