Automatic Rule-Based Entitlement

Automatic Rule-Based Entitlement is a powerful feature that enables merchants to automate actions based on specific triggers within the system. This functionality allows users to set up rules that execute actions when certain conditions are met, such as item updates or creation.

Creating a Rule

  1. Log in to Console
  2. Navigate to Settings UtilitiesRule Based Automation → Create RuleScreenshot 2023-11-30 at 6.22.06 PM.png
  3. Specify the conditions that must be met for the rule to be triggered.
  4. For example:
    • Trigger: Item created/modified under a department AND/OR under a brand.
    • Action: Entitle the item to a specific location.
  5. Set up the actions that the system should perform when the specified trigger conditions are met.
  6. Select the entitlement record modification or any other desired action to be executed.
  7. Review the rule configuration.
  8. Click "Create" to add the new rule.

Rule Components

Trigger

The trigger determines when an action should be performed. We offer single-option triggers with no "and/or" complexity.

Trigger Options

  • Item
  • Vendor
  • Store
  • Sub Category
  • Category
  • Department

Rule

Rules limit when the trigger is applied, ensuring actions are performed only under specific conditions.

Rule Options

  • Item Entitlement
  • Item Category
  • Item Sub Category
  • Item Department
  • Item Vendor

Action

The action section specifies what happens when the trigger conditions are met.

Action Options

  • Entitled to
  • Send an email
  • Make product

Example Configuration

Trigger

  • Every time an item is Created or Modified

Rule

  • Category is Food and Item Entitlement is Venue1, Store1.

Action

  • Entitled to Venue 1, Venue 2, Store 1.

Automatic Rule Based Entitlement Grid

This intuitive grid provides a clear overview of your created rules, making it easy to manage and understand your rule-based entitlement system.

The grid showcases essential details for each rule:

  1. Rule Name: Clearly identifies the name of each rule, ensuring easy recognition.
  2. Category: Displays the category of the rule, offering a quick glance at its purpose or focus.
