ZeroPOS now allows businesses to add fees to transactions, a feature that can be particularly useful for covering costs associated with credit card processing and other services. This article explains how to manage general fees in ZeroPOS, including how to tax these fees when necessary.
Adding Fees on POS
- Navigate to the Fees Tab:
- Open ZeroPOS and go to the Fees tab. Here you will see a list of all general fees that have been created from the Console.

- Select the Desired Fee:
- Click on the fee that you need to add to the current transaction. This fee will be added to the total sale amount.

Understanding Fees and Taxes
Default Tax Settings
- Non-Taxable Fees:
- By default, fees are not taxed. This means that when a fee is added to a transaction, it is included in the total amount without any additional tax being applied to it.
Making Fees Taxable
- Taxable Fees:
- There are cases where a merchant might want to tax the fees. ZeroPOS provides the option to mark fees as taxable.
How to Make a Fee Taxable
- Access the Console:
- From the backend Console, navigate to the section where you can create or manage fees.
- Create or Edit a Fee:
- When creating a new fee or editing an existing one, look for the option to make the fee taxable.
- Add a Tax ID:
- To make a fee taxable, you must add a tax to the fee. This can be found in the fee creation or editing form.
- Save Changes:
- Save the fee with the new taxable setting.
- Automatic Update on POS:
- Once a fee is marked as taxable in the Console, ZeroPOS will automatically update to apply taxes to this fee during transactions.
