Overview
Retailcloud's Label Printing feature simplifies the process of designing and printing barcode labels, offering seamless integration with Zebra printers. Merchants can create custom label templates or choose from pre-designed options, ensuring quick and consistent product labeling. These labels can include essential product information such as item descriptions, item IDs, prices, barcodes, departments, and more, enabling businesses to streamline their labeling process and maintain uniformity across their inventory.

- Print labels directly from the same system that holds your inventory, eliminating the need for additional data entry.
Creating a New Label Printing
Follow the below steps to design a new label.
Navigate to Utilities → Label Printing
Create or Choose Template
- Create New Template:
- To design a new label template, click on the Create New Template button from the dropdown.
- Fill in the required details to customize your Label Printing.
- Click on "Save Templates". A pop-up will appear prompting you to "Name the Template". Enter the preferred name, and the template will be saved. It will then be listed among the existing templates for future use.
- Choose from Existing Templates:
- Instead of creating a new template from scratch, you can also choose from previously saved templates in the dropdown menu
Choose Printer Type
- You can choose between two types of Printer Types:
- Sheet Printer: Prints labels in sheet format.
- Roll Printer: Prints labels in a roll format.
Header Display on Label
- By checking the "Header Display" option, the label will include the item header/name.
Label Layout and Placement Options
Retailcloud provides default label layouts designed to simplify the label creation process. Users can select a default label layout and assign attributes to specific spots.
- Fixed Fields: Barcode and UPC values are fixed and cannot be changed.
- Customizable Placements: There are five placement options on the label:
- Placements 1 & 2: Larger text for key details like Item Name and Price.
- Placements 3 to 5: Smaller text for additional information like Size and Color.
- A dark line separates the larger fields (1 & 2) from the smaller fields (3 to 5).
We’ve added support for a new attribute called “Dual Pricing.”
- Displays Cash Price and Card Price on the label.
- When selecting “Dual Pricing,” a text box appears to enter the Surcharge %.
- If Dual Pricing is selected, entering a surcharge percentage is mandatory. Otherwise, an error message will appear.
User can select key details given below from the placement option to print on the barcode label:
Item ID, Item Description, Retail Price, Department, Category, Sub Category, Size, Color, Style, Brand, Season, Vendor, Dual Pricing, Enhanced Description.
Label Size
For the label size, you can choose from various options supported by the printer. Select the size that best fits your needs from the available options, ensuring compatibility with your printer and the content you want to include on the label.
Sheet Printer Sizes:
- 5428: 1 inch x 3/4 inch (20 labels per sheet)
- 5160: 1 inch x 2-5/8 inch (30 labels per sheet)
- 5633: 2 inch x 4 inch (10 labels per sheet)
- 6878: 3-3/4 inch x 4-3/4 inch (4 labels per sheet)
- Note: Enhanced description limited to 50 characters
- 5167: 1/2 inch x 1-3/4 inch (80 labels per sheet)
- Note: Only Barcode and Item ID are printable
Roll Printer Sizes:
- 4.0000 inch x 2.3125 inch
- Note: Enhanced description up to 50 characters is printable
- 3.1000 inch x 1.8000 inch
- 1.5000 inch x 1.0000 inch
- 3.5000 inch x 1.1250 inch
- 2.1250 inch x 1.0000 inch
- Note: Only 4.0000 inch x 2.3125 inch size supports printing of enhanced description
Set Item Details
To Select the Items, you can either use Scan Items or use Item Lookup to select them from your inventory using filters such as Item ID, UPC, Product ID, Name, Department, Category, and more.
Saving and Printing Labels
- Save Template: Once configured, you can save the current label settings as a template for future use.
- Print Label: You can also choose to print the label directly without saving the template.
Managing Existing Templates
- Delete Template:
- Select the template you wish to delete.
- Click on the Delete button that appears on the Top right after selecting the template.
- Confirm the deletion to remove the template from your list.
- Update Template:
- Choose the template you want to modify.
- Enter the new values or make changes as needed.
- Click on Update Template to save your changes and update the template with the new information.
- Print Label: You can choose to print the label directly without Updating the template.
