Keeping your shelves stocked and your warehouses efficient is crucial for any business. The Replenishment feature in your system is designed to help you proactively manage your inventory, ensuring you always have the right items at the right place at the right time.
This feature is invaluable for stores and warehouses to quickly identify items that are running low (below their reorder level) and efficiently generate orders or transfers to restock them.
Accessing Replenishment
You can access the Replenishment feature by navigating to Inventory 360 and then selecting Replenishment. Here, you'll see a list of any replenishment reports you've previously created, allowing you to quickly review past actions.
Creating a New Replenishment Report
To generate a new report and identify items needing replenishment:
- Click the Replenishment Report button. This will open a new page where you can define the parameters for your report.
- Select Your Inventory Source: You have three primary ways to generate a replenishment report:
- Cycle Count Project: This uses the most recent, accurate physical inventory counts from a completed cycle count.
- Summary Project: Similar to a cycle count, this leverages recent summary inventory data for reliable counts.
- IBR (Inventory Balance Report): This option uses the system's current inventory balances.
- Recommendation: For the most accurate replenishment suggestions, we highly recommend using data from your latest Cycle Count Project or Summary Project, as these sources provide the most reliable physical inventory counts.
- Define Report Parameters:
- Location: Select the specific store or warehouse location for which you want to run the replenishment report.
- Source: Choose one of the three inventory sources mentioned above (Cycle Count, Summary, or IBR).
- Source Details: Depending on your chosen Source:
- If you select a Cycle Count Project or Summary Project, you'll need to specify the particular project.
- If you choose IBR, you only need to select the location.
- Primary Fulfillment Location: Select the primary location from which you wish to source items for replenishment.
- Secondary Fulfillment Location: Choose a secondary location. This acts as a backup if the primary location cannot fulfill the entire quantity needed.
- Include items without reorder setup: Check this box if you want the report to include all items found within your selected source, even if they haven't had a reorder level configured. By default, the report will only show items with a defined reorder level that are currently understocked.
- Once you've set your parameters, generate the report.
Understanding Your Replenishment Report
After generating the report, you'll see a detailed overview of your inventory status, similar to the image provided. Key columns to pay attention to include:
- Total On Hand: The current quantity of the item available at your chosen location.
- Suggested Reorder QTY: The quantity the system recommends you reorder based on your reorder levels and current stock.
- Primary Location QTY: The quantity of the item available at your chosen Primary Fulfillment Location.
- Secondary Location QTY: The quantity of the item available at your chosen Secondary Fulfillment Location.
How the System Determines Quantities:
The system prioritizes fulfillment from the Primary Fulfillment Location. If the Primary Location has enough stock to cover the suggested reorder quantity, the entire amount will be sourced from there.
If the Primary Fulfillment Location doesn't have the full quantity, the system will split the fulfillment between the Primary and Secondary locations to meet the required amount.
Overriding Suggested Quantities:
You have the flexibility to override the suggested quantities. You can manually enter the quantity you wish to order from either the primary or secondary location, giving you full control over your replenishment process.
Actioning Your Replenishment
Once you've reviewed the report and adjusted quantities as needed, you can proceed to create your replenishment orders:
- Create Inventory Transfer
- Create Store Orde
Important Note: If your replenishment order is sourced from both a primary and a secondary fulfillment location, the system will automatically create two separate transfers or store orders to reflect the different origins of the items.
The Replenishment feature empowers you to maintain optimal inventory levels, reduce stockouts, and improve overall operational efficiency. If you have any further questions, please refer to our detailed documentation or contact support.
