The Inventory Balance Report (In-Transit) (IBR-IT) gives you a real-time overview of all inventory that has been shipped (in transfer) or received but not yet checked into its final destination. This report helps you track goods currently moving between locations, providing better visibility for daily planning and inventory reconciliation.
Navigate to Console → Inventory Reports → Inventory Balance (In Transit)
The report includes both On-Hand Quantity (QOH) and In-Transit Quantity, allowing you to see stock currently being transferred.
Note: The existing Inventory Balance Report (IBR) remains unchanged — it continues to display QOH excluding in-transit quantities.
Inventory Balance Report (In-Transit) displays real-time data, so every time you run the report, it reflects your system’s most current state.
When inventory is transferred from one location to another, the same quantity is added to the QOH (with in-transit) column in the IBR-IT report. Once the transfer is received (committed) at the destination, the in-transit quantity becomes zero and is added to that location’s QOH.
Example:
Before transfer → QOH = -6, In-Transit = 0 → IBR-IT QOH = -6
After transfer of 30 items → QOH = -6, In-Transit = +30 → IBR-IT QOH = 24
After committing transfer → In-Transit = 0 → IBR-IT QOH = updated system value
If an item is shipped but not checked it, it will appear as in-transit item.
If the transfer is committed, then the in-transit quantity will become 0 and it will get added to the destination QOH.
If the transfer is reversed/errored, the quantity will be returned to the source QOH
If the source is adjusted during transfer, the updated QOH includes adjusted and in-transit quantities.
The report automatically consolidates Master and Child SKUs to show an accurate, combined quantity under the master item.
For example, if a master item has multiple child SKUs, the system sums up their QOH and in-transit quantities to display a total under the master SKU.
The IBR-IT shares the same column layout and filters as the standard IBR, ensuring a familiar user experience.
This report provides a complete and real-time view of your inventory by combining on-hand and in-transit quantities in one place, helping users to track stock currently move between locations, reconcile enterprise inventory and maintain up-to-date visibility of inventory transfers.
What is the Inventory Balance Report (In Transit)?
The IBR-IT provides a consolidated snapshot of all inventory that has been shipped or received but has not yet been checked into its final destination. This report is essential for daily planning, inventory reconciliation, and maintaining accurate oversight of your supply chain.
Key Features
Real-Time Data: The report always reflects the most current state of your inventory in transit at the enterprise level.
