Custom Tenders allow customers to pay with customized options while properly accounting for the sale in the POS and breaking down sales by payment type. For example, if you use house accounts to allow customers to pay on account (to pay their bill later), you would create a custom House Account tender.
Creating a Custom Tender
Login to Console
Navigate to Settings ---> Payment Settings --> Tenders
Click the blue Add Custom Tender button.
Enter the Tender Name and select the Payment Type from the drop-down (Cash/Card/Wallet/Other)
Display Name: Define a custom Display Name for each tender type. This name will be shown on the POS and KIOSK screens, making it easier for users to recognize different payment methods.
Display Image: Upload an icon or image to visually represent the tender. This image will appear next to the tender name on POS and KIOSK, helping with quicker identification.
Seq No: Set a Sequence Number to control the order in which tenders are displayed. Lower numbers will appear first. This allows for better control over the layout and positioning of tenders in the interface.
Card Type: Helps merchants track and distinguish transactions based on card networks like Mastercard, Visa, Amex, Discover etc.
Discount: lists all active discounts from the Promotions section.
Hit Save
Enable Permission Check: To enhance control and security, a permission-based check has been introduced for processing payments using Custom Tenders in the POS system. This feature ensures that only authorized users can access and use Custom Tenders, adding an extra layer of oversight.
Authorized users with the required permissions can process payments using Custom Tenders, providing enhanced control over transactions. With this permission enabled, the POS system ensures user authorization is verified for the selected tender before completing the transaction.
On POS, once the manual sync is completed, all the above-saved tenders will be available under Configurations. Users can enable or disable any custom tender as per their needs.
Paymode Configuration
We’ve introduced a paymode configuration to make managing your payment methods simpler, faster, and more flexible. With the Paymode Configuration feature in the Console, you now have a centralized interface to view, create, update, and delete tender settings, all without needing technical assistance.
This ensures that the payment methods you configure in the Console are instantly applied to your POS, keeping everything in sync.
Navigate to Console → Settings → Tender → Paymode Configuration
From here, you’ll be directed to the new Paymode Configuration page, which serves as your control center for managing payment methods across venues, stores, and registers.
On the Paymode Configuration page, you will find:
-
Configuration Grid that displays:
- Venue
- Store
- Register
- Assigned Tender Types (listed in a clear, comma-separated format)
-
Action Options for each row:
- Edit – update existing tender settings.
- Delete – remove outdated or unnecessary configurations.
- A New Configuration button to quickly create new rules.
Click on the New Configuration button to create a new payment configuration.
- Choose the Location – Choose whether the configuration applies at the Venue, Store, or Register level.
- Assign Tender Types – Select one or more payment options using checkboxes. Available tender types include: Credit, Debit, Cash, Gift, EBT, Split and Other custom tenders configured for your business.
- Hold and Drag to Reorder: The hold and drag to reorder a menu tab functionality allows you to set the display order of tenders.
This allows you to precisely control which tenders are available at each location.
Hierarchy and Overrides
Tender configurations follow a hierarchy-based structure, giving you flexibility and control:
- Venue-level: Applies to all stores and registers by default.
- Store-level: Can override venue-level configurations for a specific store.
- Register-level: Can override both venue and store configurations for a specific register.
This hierarchy ensures that broad rules apply across your business, while still allowing you to make targeted adjustments where needed.
