Introducing Kiosk Mode for the Suite App

 

We are excited to announce the launch of Kiosk Mode, a new feature designed to streamline the customer ordering process on dedicated, shared devices. This mode is perfect for merchants who want to set up self-service ordering stations in their physical locations, such as in-store, at events, or in a lobby.

When enabled, Kiosk Mode transforms the Suite App into a seamless, single-purpose ordering system that automatically resets for each new customer, ensuring a secure and efficient experience.

 

How Kiosk Mode Works: The Customer Journey

 

Understanding the customer flow is key to leveraging this feature. Here’s what your customers will experience when your app is in Kiosk Mode:

  1. Login: The customer approaches the kiosk, which displays the standard login screen for your Suite App. They log into their account to begin.
  2. Order Placement: The customer browses your offerings and places their order as they normally would.
  3. Direct Payment: At checkout, the customer proceeds directly to payment. There are no authorization holds or deposit requirements in this mode, simplifying the transaction.
  4. Order Confirmation & Auto-Logout: Once the payment is successfully completed, a receipt or order confirmation screen will be displayed for a few seconds. Immediately after, the app will automatically and securely log the user out.
  5. Ready for the Next Customer: The app instantly resets to the login screen, ready for the next person to place their order.

This entire process is automated, requiring no manual intervention from your staff to log users out or reset the session.

 

Setting Up Your Physical Kiosk Device

 

To deploy the Kiosk Mode on a device (e.g., a tablet or a dedicated terminal), simply open a web browser on that device and navigate to your unique Suite App URL.

The URL format is: https://yourname.suites.app/login?suiteId=123

Replace yournamewith your specific merchant identifier and 123 with your unique Suite ID. Once this page is loaded, the device is ready for customer use.
